Well this post has not been completely reaped by my mind but is an amalgam of my thoughts and a few articles from here and there ( so please bear stuffs you have already read).
One day a beggar approached Yudhisthir ( ya am taking you back to a tale from Mahabharata) and asked him for some donation for the needy. Yudhisthir who had his mind preoccupied by something, told the beggar that he will be given the donation the next day. Hearing this Bheem his younger brother, who sat beside him ran and rang the victory bells of the court. Yudhisthir was astonished seeing this and went to his brother to inquire why he took such a step. Bheem hapilly replied, that today my elder brother has had victory over life, so why should i not sound the victory bells.
Most of us (and specially me) offtimes put on things for a later date, call it ones slothy nature or lack of interest, incapability or a thousand other things depending on peoples views.
Be it catching a train just seconds before it is to leave, filling up forms in the last minute and paying your mobile bills only after the outgoings have been barred.. If we go to what the Oxford English Dictionary has to say, known for its political correctness, it describes this habit as procrastination, which means putting off things for a later date, and at places it is also mentioned as an acquired habit (sorry but even i didn't get it why so). But of late this acquired habit is getting a bad name. A research study by Piers Steel, a psychology professor at the University of Calgary, can certainly give you a low( it certainly did for me). It says, “Essentially, procrastinators have less confidence in themselves, less expectancy that they can actually complete a task.” Sigh's!!!!!
With a bit of googling for everyone feeling let down by this research it is found that we do have a better sense of time management than others!!ahem!!. Well this can be explained by that even with our daydreaming and high thoughts ( not mentioning here where they actually end to ) we do finish up our stuffs just before time and even many a times come up with beautiful ideas that help us and many piers several times. However, what will certainly cheer you the most was this bit about Albert Einstein. It seems he procrastinated about learning to ride a bicycle for so long that he did not learn to ride one until he was 23. Surely, if he could do it then we shouldn’t be faulted for a little daydreaming!. And several times continuing this habit and postponing stuff you may not have to do it at all.
Well though this is not a habit worth praising, but what can be done the best is to keep daydreaming, continue breaking signals to catch your trains, but do catch them.............

Pretty True !! Atleast it holds true in my case... I have been promising myself for so many things from past few months, but as your post says... I just keep postponing them all the time... I suppose , sooner or later we all end up getting accustomed to POSTPONING of plans... but then sometimes you should just leave things JUST LIKE THAT ;) Even that can be fun sometimes ;)
What else do you expect me to say ;) I wont prove it wrong unless I finish off all the things I ve been wanting to finish from such a long time ;)
It is very much true for me when it comes to telephone bills. For rest of the things, I manage my time pretty well :)
